Today Bob Wheeler and his brother Tom are carrying on the family paving business started by their grandfather, Cliff Schoen, in the 1940’s. “He had a paving and sewer business in Toledo and he became the first distributor for Jennite sealer for the eastern half of the United States back then,” Bob explained. In those days there wasn’t a lot of demand for sealant because roads were made mostly from brick – but when the shift came to asphalt in the 1950s, Jennite Paving was in a perfect position to take advantage of the trend. Since those days, Bob and Tom have added complete site work to the company’s services, which include paving, sealing, patching, drain repair, and snow removal.
